ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is the ninth time this important cricket competition is happening. It's a big event where the eight best men's national teams in One Day International (ODI) cricket compete. The International Cricket Council (ICC) organizes it, and this time it will be in Pakistan in February 2025.
Teams qualify for this tournament based on their performance in the early rounds of the ICC World Cup 2023. The best seven teams automatically get to play in the Champions Trophy, and Pakistan gets to play too because they are hosting, no matter how they ranked in the World Cup. Pakistan was fifth in the World Cup, so the top eight teams from there will compete in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Teams like India, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand got in easily as they were among the top four. Afghanistan also made it, finishing sixth in the World Cup, and this is a special moment for them as it's their first time in the Champions Trophy.
